SOUKEY. In her lyrics, the musician Soukey processes the wide range of emotional worlds that she deals with as a budding tween; sometimes clubby partying, sometimes melancholy mourning, always accompanied by spherical soundscapes. The main thing: no pigeonholes. The young Bernese is the next big voice of Swiss hip-hop, if not of an entire generation. Her themes: Exclusion, mental health or the daily struggle of a young, queer BIPoC. Soukey addresses taboos, provokes, but also opens up her own personal cosmos - with stylish rap lines on equally stylish trap beats.
